Rodica Busui, M.D., Ph.D.,is an internationally recognized leader in diabetes research and care. She served as the 2023 American Diabetes Association President for Medicine and Science and is Professor Emeritus at the University of Michigan.
Dr. Busui’s research focuses on diabetes and its complications, including heart, kidney, nerve, and foot disease, as well as innovative technologies that improve diabetes management. She has led and contributed to many landmark clinical trials that have shaped diabetes care worldwide and currently directs major national research initiatives focused on preventing diabetes-related complications. A prolific researcher, she has published more than 400 peer-reviewed articles and has received numerous national and international honors for her contributions to diabetes research and patient care.
