Doernbecher Discoveries: Advocacy in Action — A Public Health Approach to Child Injury Prevention
3 - 4 p.m.
Virtual
Join OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital for a virtual conversation highlighting our advocacy mission and leadership in addressing firearm injury and gun violence as a public health issue.
Gun injuries are the leading causes of death for children and adolescents in the United States. At Doernbecher, we are applying evidence-based public health strategies — through research, education, and advocacy — to help prevent injury and save lives.
This conversation will feature:
Dr. Benjamin Hoffman
Pediatrician and nationally recognized leader in injury prevention and child health advocacy at OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Kathleen Carlson
Public health professor at OHSU whose research focuses on data-driven policy and system-level solutions to reduce firearm injuries and protect children and families.
Together, they will share how Doernbecher is leading with research, advocacy, and community partnerships to improve child safety and advance public health.
RSVP by Wednesday, February 3
