The fourth annual OHSU Give Day is here! It’s our biggest giving day of the year, when people all over the region come together in support of the transformative work of OHSU and OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital.
Community. Giving. All of us, together.
The day’s success relies on people like you – people who are willing to spread the word about the importance of donating to OHSU, OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, OHSU Knight Cancer Institute and more. Whether you’re a patient, donor, parent, volunteer, long-time friend and or first-time supporter, you have the power to make a real, lasting difference.
This toolkit contains ways for you to become an ambassador and champion for OHSU on Give Day. We’ve prepared tips and drafted sample language for you to use on your preferred personal, professional or community social media channels.
We are so grateful to you for sharing YOUR stories and the messages below with your online communities in support of OHSU and Doernbecher Children’s Hospital.
Here are some ways you can spread the word and get involved:
1. Become an ambassador
Ambassadors are powerful advocates to get the word out about OHSU Give Day. You can sign up to be an official ambassador at the Give Day website. You’ll be given a referral link to use with your family, friends, colleagues and networks. On May 22, you’ll be able to track your results on your ambassador dashboard.
YOU + 2 Ambassador Challenge – NEW this year!
- When you make a gift and get two others to make gifts* you’ll be eligible for an opportunity to designate extra funds to your favorite impact area at OHSU and OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. Two ambassadors will be chosen at random to designate $500 to the fund of their choosing.
- The ambassador who generates the most gifts* from others (YOU + 10?!) will get to designate $1,000 to the fund of their choosing.
* Donations must come through the ambassador’s unique Give Day link to qualify.
2. Share YOUR story
You don’t have to sign up as an official ambassador to make a difference! Sharing your personal story on why you support OHSU is another powerful way to participate.
Human health touches all our lives, and most of our donors and supporters have a personal reason for supporting their area of passion at OHSU. Sharing your personal connection to OHSU — your personal why — is the most powerful way to encourage others to give.
We invite you to post your own story to your social media account(s). Be sure to use a photo! Social media posts with pictures get more views and more engagement on every channel. Don’t forget to tag us so we can see your story and engage with you.
3. Explore all the exciting match opportunities and challenges
Your dollars can go twice as far on OHSU Give Day. Thanks to generous donors, community partners, and OHSU members, there are several match opportunities and challenges throughout the day—and even leading up to the day!
