Medical Chat: Can we promote remyelination and protect neurons in multiple sclerosis?
11:00 a.m.

Presented by: Ben Emery, Ph.D.
Associate Professor of Neurology, OHSU School of Medicine
Warren Endowed Professor of Neuroscience Research
Jungers Center for Neurosciences Research
for the OHSU Foundation Office of Gift Planning
Ben Emery, Ph.D., earned his Ph.D. from the University of Melbourne in 2004 before completing a postdoc at Stanford University with Professor Ben Barres in 2009. His lab seeks to understand central nervous system myelination over a range of contexts including development, neuroplasticity and disease. His lab’s current National Institute of Health and Department of Defense funded research seeks to develop neuroprotective strategies in multiple sclerosis and to understand the molecular mechanisms underlying age-related remyelination failure. He is the director of the Jungers Center for Neurosciences Research and a co-founder of Autobahn Therapeutics.
